Peisaje Postumane / Posthuman Landscapes

Trăim într-un moment în care inteligența artificială, crizele ecologice și accelerarea tehnologică destabilizează modul în care definim alteritatea, adică ceea ce se înțelege ca „celălalt” față de om. Teama și incertitudinea care însoțesc aceste transformări indică o dificultate mai profundă de raportare la lume: aceea că umanul nu a fost niciodată autonom, ci întotdeauna deja implicat într-un ansamblu de relații cu alte forme de viață și cu mediile pe care le traversează.

Peisaje Postumane pornește de la această tensiune contemporană: pe de o parte, continuăm să operăm cu o imagine a realității structurată antropocentric, în care omul ocupă poziția de vârf a ierarhiei vieții; pe de altă parte, științele sociale, gândirea ecologică și teoriile postumane ne încurajează să acceptăm lumea ca o rețea de interdependențe, în care nicio formă de viață nu există izolat și în care procesele (in)vizibile ale altor agenți, fie ei biologici, tehnologici sau minerali, sunt constitutive pentru însăși posibilitatea existenței.

Expoziția mizează pe schimbarea perspectivei: trecerea de la o structură piramidală a lumii la o structură de tip rețea, în care realitatea nu mai este organizată vertical, ci ca un câmp de noduri aflate în comunicare permanentă. În acest model, oamenii, animalele, plantele, apele, miceliul, datele, algoritmii și sistemele tehnologice nu mai sunt entități separate, ci actori ai aceluiași ecosistem extins, care se influențează reciproc.

În acest context, Peisaje Postumane propune o serie de situații în care rețeaua devine perceptibilă. Corpul nu mai este doar fizic, ci devine un flux de date, lumină și reacții. Gestul devine forța care modelează medii naturale simulate. Gândirea devine generator de forme organice și de empatie. Alte forme de viață, reale sau speculative, apar ca entități cu care se poate interacționa, punând sub semnul întrebării ideea intenționalității ca fiind exclusiv umană.

Expoziția marchează prima reprezentare solo a duo-ului, format în 2020 de Cristina Bodnărescu și George Urse, reunind un corpus de șapte lucrări interactive realizate în ultimii cinci ani, la intersecția dintre artă, tehnologie și ecologie speculativă - Digital Heaven (2022), My Digital Skin (2025), Evolution VR (2026), Grădina deliciilor sintetice VR (2025), Hidrosfera în mișcare (2024-2025), Arborescent.Neural (2024) și Imagined Critters (2023).

We live in a time when artificial intelligence, ecological crises and technological acceleration are destabilizing the way we define otherness, that is, what is understood as “other” in relation to humans. The fear and uncertainty that accompany these transformations indicate a deeper difficulty in relating to the world: that humans have never been autonomous, but have always already been involved in a set of relationships with other forms of life and with the environments they traverse.

Posthuman Landscapes starts from this contemporary tension: on the one hand, we continue to operate within an anthropocentrically structured image of reality, in which humans occupy the top position of the hierarchy of life; on the other hand, social sciences, ecological thinking and posthuman theories encourage us to accept the world as a network of interdependencies, in which no form of life exists in isolation and in which the (in)visible processes of other agents, be they biological, technological or mineral, are constitutive for the very possibility of existence.

The exhibition focuses on a change of perspective: the transition from a pyramidal structure of the world to a network-type structure, in which reality is no longer organized vertically, but as a field of nodes in permanent communication. In this model, people, animals, plants, waters, mycelium, data, algorithms and technological systems are no longer separate entities, but actors of the same extended ecosystem, which influence each other.

In this context, Posthuman Landscapes proposes a series of situations in which the network becomes perceptible. The body is no longer just physical, but becomes a flow of data, light and reactions. Gesture becomes the force that shapes simulated natural environments. Thinking becomes the generator of organic forms and empathy. Other forms of life, real or speculative, appear as entities with which one can interact, questioning the idea of ​​intentionality as exclusively human.

The exhibition marks the first solo representation of the duo, formed in 2020 by Cristina Bodnărescu and George Urse, bringing together a corpus of seven interactive works created in the last five years, at the intersection of art, technology and speculative ecology - Digital Heaven (2022), My Digital Skin (2025), Evolution VR (2026), The Garden of Synthetic Delights VR (2025), Hydrosphere in motion (2024-2025), Arborescent.Neural (2024) and Imagined Critters (2023).
